Mr. Stalfort is a founding partner of Benevolent Capital Partners, LLC and serves as our primary contact for capital markets activities.  Prior to BCP, Mr. Stalfort co-founded Octagon Partners, a value-oriented real estate investment firm focused on a diversified portfolio of unique developments including urban infill, retail development, residential land development, and refurbishing older properties in the Central Virginia market. Octagon has invested or exited eight portfolio properties totaling over 1,300 acres, 2,500 residential units and 2 million sq ft of retail sq ft. 

Prior to Octagon Partners, Mr. Stalfort was a founding partner in Ravelin Capital Group, LLC, a private equity group focused on the small-to-mid-market segment.  Ravelin is executing a strategic build-up in the $4 billion analytical testing market through its portfolio company, Genapure Inc.  Genapure has become one of the largest testing companies of in the U.S with three hub facilities Philadelphia (food and environmental), Boca Raton (environmental) and Upstate NY (pharmaceutical). 

Prior to joining Ravelin Capital, Mr. Stalfort was a Managing Director and founding partner of Capital Solutions Group (“CSG”), a leveraged finance company and private equity transaction sponsor in distressed franchise opportunities.  CSG raised $10 million in start-up capital and commitments for $75 million in additional equity capital to support a $500 million CP conduit facility.  CSG sourced, structured and raised capital for three distressed private equity investments with total enterprise values over $150 million.
 
Prior to founding Capital Solutions Group, Mr. Stalfort served as Senior Vice President and founding principal in Enterprise Mortgage, a specialty finance company providing over $1.2 billion in senior real estate, asset-based and cash flow debt financing to small and mid-sized companies and properties.  The company generated $29 million and $30 million in net income during its second and third year after inception. Mr. Stalfort was involved in structuring and negotiating the sale of 10% of the company to Citicorp at a $200 million valuation after 18 months of operation.

Prior to forming Enterprise Mortgage, Mr. Stalfort was a Vice President in Greenwich Capital’s Asset-Backed Finance Group, participating in various ABS,  merchant banking and real estate transactions totaling over $2 billion. Mr. Stalfort also worked with the trading desk to value a variety of esoteric mortgage backed securities.  Mr. Stalfort began his career as an investment banking credit analyst in Fixed Income Sales & Trading Group at CS First Boston in New York. 

Mr. Stalfort earned a bachelor’s degree at Brown University in Business Economics and Political Science.
